There are many turn which can be executed. Each turn has its own advantages and disadvantages.
For example Williamson’s turn is very advantageous in reduced visibility BUT Anderson turn is the fastest recovery method. On the other hand Scharnov turn reduces overall times as the distance covered is the least.

Hence, any turn which is executed, will depend upon the state of Sea, visibility and location of the MOB ( whether known or not).

However, in most of the circumstances Williamson’s turn is preferred.
