Following additional requirements are for the lifeboats that are required to be carried onboard Oil tankers, chemical and gas tankers -

1. Such vessels shall be carrying totally enclosed lifeboats.
2. These life boats would normally be fitted with a compressed air supply sufficient for a full complement and to allow the use of the boats engine (compressed air operation good for at least 10 minutes).
3. The boats would also be equipped with a water sprinkler system for operation on the outside of the boats form. They would expect to operate with an on-load, off-load, release system.
